Grandpa Donohoe's Buttermilk Biscuits

2 cups buttermilk

3 cups self rising flour

 

Heat oven to 425 degrees.

In oven melt 2 – 3 tbsp. of bacon grease in 10 x 14 pan.

Mix flour and buttermilk to moist dough, more milk or more flour as needed.

Turn out on floured surface, pat out to ½ inch thick, cut with biscuit cutter.

Poor melted grease from pan and save.

Place biscuits in pan and moisten top with melted bacon grease.

Bake on center rack till gold brown, about 15 – 18 minutes.
